Ingredients
Main Ingredients
4 cups water
2 black or green tea bags or 1 tablespoon loose leaf tea
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
Juice of 2 lemons
Zest of 1 lemon
2-3 tablespoons honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
Ice cubes
Garnish
Fresh mint leaves (optional)
Lemon slices (optional)
Extra blueberries (optional)
Instructions
Boil the Water: Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a medium-sized pot.
Brew the Tea: Remove the pot from heat and add the tea bags. Let the tea steep for 5 minutes to allow a strong flavor. Remove the tea bags or strain loose leaf tea and allow the tea to cool to room temperature.
Prepare the Blueberry Mixture: While the tea cools, combine the blueberries, lemon juice, and lemon zest in a small bowl. Gently mash the blueberries with a fork or muddler to release their juices.
Sweeten the Tea: Stir honey or sugar into the warm tea until fully dissolved. Adjust sweetness according to your taste preference.
Combine the Tea and Blueberry Mixture: Once the tea is cool, add the blueberry-lemon mixture into the tea and stir well to combine.
Chill the Tea: Refrigerate the mixture until thoroughly chilled, about 1 hour, or serve immediately over ice cubes for a refreshing drink.
Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled Blueberry Tea Lemonade over the ice. Garnish with fresh mint leaves, lemon slices, and extra blueberries if desired.
Enjoy: Serve immediately and enjoy this refreshing and flavorful blueberry iced tea lemonade.
Notes
Use fresh or frozen blueberries depending on availability; frozen blueberries add extra color and flavor.
Adjust the sweetness to your preference by adding more or less honey or sugar.
For a stronger tea flavor, steep the tea for up to 5 minutes but avoid over-steeping to prevent bitterness.
Serve immediately over ice for a quick chilled drink or refrigerate for at least 1 hour for best cooling effect.
Garnish with mint, lemon slices, and blueberries to enhance presentation and flavor.
