Delicious and easy-to-make Caprese Skewers, featuring fresh cherry tomatoes, mozzarella pearls, and basil leaves, drizzled with a tangy balsamic glaze and a touch of black pepper. Perfect as a refreshing appetizer or party snack.

Ingredients

Caprese Skewers

  • 12 cherry tomatoes
  • ½ cup mozzarella pearls
  • 24 fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare skewers: Thread 2 small mozzarella pearls onto a wooden or metal skewer, creating a base for your skewer.
  2. Add basil leaf: Fold a fresh basil leaf in half if it's large, then slide it onto the skewer next to the mozzarella pearls.
  3. Insert cherry tomato: Slide one cherry tomato onto the skewer following the basil leaf.
  4. Add another basil leaf: Place another basil leaf after the tomato for balance and flavor.
  5. Add mozzarella pearls: Thread 2 more mozzarella pearls onto the skewer to complete the pattern.
  6. Repeat assembly: Continue the skewer assembly process for the remaining ingredients until all tomatoes, basil, and mozzarella are used.
  7. Season and drizzle: Arrange the finished skewers on a serving platter, drizzle with 1 tablespoon of balsamic glaze, and sprinkle ½ teaspoon of black pepper evenly over the skewers to taste.

Notes

  • Use fresh high-quality mozzarella pearls for the best flavor.
  • Fold large basil leaves to fit better on the skewers and distribute flavor evenly.
  • For a sweeter balsamic touch, use a reduced balsamic glaze.
  • These skewers can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated; drizzle balsamic glaze before serving.
  • For added texture, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt if preferred.
  • Use reusable skewers for an eco-friendly option.
