Ingredients

Fruit

  • 4 cups sliced peaches (fresh or canned)

Batter

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Prepare Peaches: Place the sliced peaches evenly in the bottom of the crockpot and sprinkle the 1 cup of sugar over the peaches to sweeten them.
  2. Mix Batter: In a separate bowl, combine the flour, milk, melted butter, baking powder, and vanilla. Stir well until the batter is smooth and all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  3. Combine and Cook: Pour the batter mixture gently over the sugared peaches in the crockpot, spreading it evenly.
  4. Cook: Cover and cook on low heat for 4 hours, or until the batter is set and cooked through, and the peaches are tender.
  5. Serve: Spoon the peach cobbler into bowls while warm and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired for added richness and flavor.

Notes

  • Use fresh peaches when in season for best flavor, or canned peaches if fresh are not available.
  • You can substitute the sugar with a lower-calorie sweetener if desired, adjusting to taste.
  • For a richer flavor, brown the butter before mixing into the batter.
  • Make sure to not open the crockpot lid during cooking to retain heat and ensure even cooking.
  • Serve with whipped cream or ice cream as an optional topping.
